According to a report by DataReportal, Albanians continue to express themselves strongly in the online vocabulary. For the sixth year in a row, the word “translate” tops the list of most searched terms on Google, followed by “Google,” “Albania,” “Weather,” and “YouTube.”
In the field of entertainment, Albanians have diverse tastes, with films like Upgraded, Culpa Mía, The Idea of You and Road House among the most sought after. American television classics like Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives also remain among the most watched.
Data for January 2025 shows that Albania has around 1.41 million active social media users, which makes up 50.7% of the population. However, these figures may include users with multiple accounts or fake accounts.
Facebook and Instagram each have 1.2 million users, unchanged from last year. TikTok, however, has seen a decline in users, falling to 1.41 million in January 2025, compared to 1.53 million last year.
LinkedIn is also growing, with an increase of 80 users, reaching 660 active members. More than half of users are from the 25–34 age group, with a percentage of 54.1%.
