In eight months, Albania has been visited by around nine million tourists.

Albania continues to see record numbers of foreign tourists, with around nine million visiting between January and August.

The Albanian Institute of Statistics has published data confirming that the entry of foreign citizens is 5,2 percent higher compared to the same period a year ago, when a total of 8,5 million foreign citizens were registered.

In August alone, the number of foreign citizens entering Albanian territory was 2,3 million, which is an increase of 9,9 percent, compared to the same month last year.

The Albanian economy benefited from foreign tourists for 2,1 billion euros in just six months, when 4,76 million foreigners visited. These numbers confirm that 2025 will be even more optimistic in terms of tourism in the country, while revenues are expected to increase by about 7,7 percent compared to last year.

The influx of tourists is expected to continue this fall, extending the country’s tourist season. Tour operators are reporting high bookings for both September and October.

Last year, Albania was visited by over 11,7 million tourists, or 15,2 percent more than the previous year. This year, expectations are for over 12 million tourists.
