Person wanted by INTERPOL for “aggravated theft” is deprived of his liberty in Kosovo

A person wanted on an international arrest warrant was arrested on Saturday by the Kosovo Police, in cooperation with police units in the Gjakova Region.

According to the official announcement, the arrest was made on May 10, 2026, at around 13:10 p.m., by the Directorate for International Police Cooperation.

The arrested person is a Kosovar citizen with the initials HM, who was wanted through INTERPOL, based on an international arrest warrant issued by the Albanian authorities.

He is suspected of involvement in the criminal offense of “Aggravated Theft”.

After the arrest, by order of the prosecutor in charge, the suspect was taken into police custody for 48 hours, while further legal proceedings are expected to continue against him in coordination with the competent authorities.

The Kosovo Police has emphasized that it remains committed to international police cooperation and the implementation of international arrest warrants, with the aim of fighting crime and strengthening the rule of law.
