Price hike in Kosovo: Coffee, eggs, milk and vegetables more expensive

Consumer prices in Kosovo have marked a significant increase during March 2025, compared to the same month last year, 2024.

According to data published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS), the overall Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) marked an average increase of 2,9% in March 2025, compared to March 2024.

As it is known, the annual increase in prices was also accompanied by a monthly inflation of 0,8%, only during March 2025, reflecting the ongoing impacts of various market factors and the economic environment, the telegraph reports.

The increase in prices was mainly influenced by the increase in the cost of goods and services in some of the most important groups and subgroups of the COICOP classification. Some of the most significant increases include: Coffee, tea and cocoa (17,1%), vegetables (8,7%), meat (8,3%), personal transport services (7,6%), milk, cheese and eggs (7,1%), wood (6,7%), alcoholic beverages (6,3%), newspapers, books and office supplies (6,2%), hotel services (5,8%), mineral water, soft drinks and juices (5,4%).

Meanwhile, according to ASK, prices in several categories have decreased, including solid fuels (such as firewood, pellets, etc.) with a decrease of -6,7%, and fuels and lubricants for personal transport with a decrease of -5,0%.
