iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will have advanced LTPO+ OLED displays

A new report coming from ETNews’ supply chain sources says that Apple is planning to introduce advanced LTPO+ OLED panels with the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models. In addition to the supposedly more power-efficient nature of LTPO+ displays, they will also allow Apple to place the IR scanner, used for Face ID, behind the display.

Furthermore, some people familiar with the matter suspect that Apple will also move the selfie camera behind the screen without compromising on quality.

Interestingly, this would remove Chinese panel maker BOE from Apple’s supply chain for the Pro models, as only LG and Samsung can produce LTPO+ OLED displays. However, BOE may still produce panels for the non-Pro models. The report also suggests that Apple will include LTPO+ panels in the redesigned M6 MacBook Pro.
