EasyJet is up for sale, the Americans buy it for 6.66 billion euros

British low-cost airline easyJet has accepted a takeover offer from American investment fund Apollo Global Management, worth around 6.66 billion euros.

The deal was unanimously approved by the company’s board of directors, after rival Castlelake withdrew from the bidding race, it writes. € news.

Apollo’s offer is 7.15 pounds per share and values ​​easyJet at around 5.7 billion pounds (6.66 billion euros).

Due to European Union rules, Apollo cannot directly own more than 49.9 percent of the company’s shares, so a special ownership structure has been envisaged to comply with European legislation.

Apollo has announced that it supports easyJet’s current strategy, including fleet renewal and expansion of the package holiday business.

The deal is expected to close in 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
