Kosovo leads in global measurements of improving well-being

Last year, over half of Kosovo’s citizens said they believe their lives are going very well. A decade ago, just over 10 percent of the population gave this assessment.

So, what has caused this improvement, which according to the American Gallup Research Center, no other country in the world has achieved?

Kosovo citizens’ assessments of their living conditions

Over the last decade, the percentage of citizens who say their lives are going very well has improved by 20 percentage points (or more) in 12 countries around the world, including some in the Region, such as Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Switzerland has also experienced a similar, but negative, change.

However, no country in the world has seen a greater change than Kosovo, where the percentage of satisfied citizens has increased from 11 to 51 percent.
