For the first time in its 130-year history, Skoda has ranked as the third best-selling car brand in Europe. During the first six months of this year, deliveries on the continent reached 409.100 units, which represents an increase of 10.5 percent compared to the same period last year. The Czech manufacturer has set itself the goal of strengthening its position among the three leading brands in Europe by the end of the decade.
With sales growth in the first half of this year, Skoda surpassed last year’s result, when it was in fourth place. In 2022, it was in tenth place, while in 2023 it was ranked seventh on the list of the best-selling brands in Europe. Skoda has made continuous improvements and this year it has climbed to third place, behind Volkswagen and Toyota, leaving brands such as BMW and Renault behind.
The company’s largest market is Germany, where 100,700 cars were delivered. The Skoda Octavia remains the best-selling model with over 80,000 units delivered. Skoda’s electric cars continue to be very popular, especially the Enyaq and Elroq models. The company has delivered 72.000 electric cars and 21.400 plug-in hybrid models in Europe. Together, they account for 22.8 percent of total sales – an increase compared to 9.4 percent last year.
