Is Elon Musk’s popularity declining?

Elon Musk’s popularity among American citizens is falling, according to the latest poll average from Nate Silver. Silver Bulletin.

The poll average shows that 53.5% of Americans have unfavorable views of Musk and only 39.6% have positive opinions of him.

It is known that the billionaire’s popularity has fallen sharply since the beginning of 2024.

According to Silver Bulletin, the billionaire’s negative views have been particularly on the rise following his outspoken support for Trump’s second presidential campaign and, not long after, the start of his work at DOGE.

This work has seen widespread layoffs from federal agencies, while DOGE operatives have access to sensitive areas of the government, including IRS data, the US Treasury’s payment system, and the Social Security Administration.

Otherwise, as accurate as Silver Bulletin’s average is, the site is not the only one to point out Musk’s unpopularity.

Media like Fox NewsPolitico and Axios have recently pointed out polls showing a growing “hatred” for the billionaire.
