The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, has asked Serbia to extradite criminals and data on missing persons. In an article on Twitter, she requested that Serbia respect the Universal Declaration of the United Nations on human rights.
“International Human Rights Day: Kosovo guarantees the highest standards of human rights, as confirmed by the European Union, OSCE and other organizations. We ask Serbia to respect the Universal Declaration of the United Nations on human rights and to extradite criminals and data on missing persons”, she wrote on December 10.
Kosovo has continuously accused Serbia of delaying the processes for finding those forcibly disappeared during the war. Although more than a year has passed since Kosovo and Serbia agreed on the Declaration on the Disappeared, achievements are lacking. A few days ago, the chairman of the Governmental Commission for Missing Persons, Andin Hoti, said that Serbia, in order to delay the work process of the Commission for Missing Persons, proposed a draft document in which it tried to include UNMIK in this matter.
More than 1600 people remain missing from the war in Kosovo.
