Poll: Americans unhappy with war

Americans’ discontent with the war in Iran is reaching its peak. A recent Reuters poll shows that the vast majority of citizens have a gloomy view of the conflict. The main concern remains the safety of military personnel, but also the negative economic consequences that the crisis is causing in the Middle East. After President Trump’s speech, in which he threatened to return Iran to the “Stone Age”, crude oil prices in the US immediately exploded. Experts predict that the fuel will reach up to $ 4.45 per gallon next week.

This has led to more than half of Americans, 56%, having a negative outlook on their personal finances and quality of life.

Also, over ¾ of Americans oppose sending ground troops to Iran. Although Pentagon officials confirm that this option is on the table, Americans consider this as a risk of an endless and costly war. Fears that Tehran could hold global energy supplies in check by blocking the Strait of Hormuz have turned this war into a real strategic nightmare for Washington and the entire public opinion in the US.
