Rapporteur Terras demands recognition of Kosovo from the European five

A serious warning was issued by the rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Riho Terras.

It concerns a campaign that the former general of the Estonian Army plans to launch in relation to Slovakia, Spain, Greece, Romania and Cyprus, reports Klan Kosova.

These five EU member states do not recognize the statehood of the Republic of Kosovo, so Terras will attempt to change their position.

This initiative of the rapporteur in the EP, the former Minister of European Integration, Mimoza Ahmetaj, considers important.

In relation to the European Union, Kosovo has a Stabilization and Association Agreement, but there are major obstacles to obtaining candidate country status.

For this, the application was made in December 2022 – but since then there has been no movement from Brussels.

Kosovo has been recognized as an independent and sovereign state by 119 countries so far. The last recognition came on April 13 from Sudan.
