Trump tough on Iran: Deal or destruction

United States President Donald Trump has toughened his rhetoric against Iran, saying Tehran must choose between a deal with the US, facing economic pressure and what he described as the “destruction” of the country.

In a telephone interview with Fox News, Trump said he must soon make an important decision regarding the US’s next steps in the conflict with Iran, A2cnn writes.

“My question is: when and if I’m going to destroy the whole country?” Trump said, adding that Iran “better behave.”

The US president’s statements come at a tense moment, as his administration is considering options for continuing the conflict and the possibility of escalating military operations.

Just a few days ago, Trump told Axios that he had a “big decision” ahead of him and was considering the possibility of returning to large-scale military operations.
