Hillary Clinton has accused US President Donald Trump’s administration of “covering up the truth” regarding the way files related to accused sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have been handled. “Publish the files. You are deliberately dragging out the process,” the former US Secretary of State declared.
Asked whether Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor should appear before a congressional committee, Clinton said, “Everyone should testify if asked to do so.”
Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing, stating that the inclusion of a name in the file does not imply guilt. The Clintons are expected to appear before the House Intelligence Committee. Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify on February 27, while Hillary is expected a day earlier.
This will be the first time a former US president has testified before a congressional committee since Gerald Ford did so in 1983. Bill Clinton, who is mentioned several times in the Epstein files, was acquainted with Epstein, but says he cut off contact with him two decades ago.
Neither Clinton has been accused of wrongdoing by victims of Epstein’s abuse, and both have denied any knowledge of his sex crimes at the time they occurred. Millions of new documents related to Epstein were made public by the US Department of Justice earlier this month, after Congress passed a law requiring the agency to release materials related to its investigation into him.
