Korean carmaker Kia is introducing a new line of electric vans with the PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) platform, which aims to redefine electric commercial vehicles. The goal is not just to produce vans, but to create a modular platform that adapts to the needs of professional transport, urban logistics and passenger mobility.
At the heart of this line is the PV5, the first model that marks the beginning of this new project. The PV5 is designed as a flexible vehicle, capable of adapting to both freight and passenger use, offering different configurations as needed.

After it, Kia plans to expand the line with two more models: the PV7 and the PV9. These names refer to the largest and most advanced vehicles within the same family. The PV7, scheduled for 2027, is expected to offer more space and transport capacity, mainly targeting more intensive professional and logistical use. While the PV9, expected to arrive in 2029, will be the largest model in the line, with maximum capacity and even more advanced configurations for high-end commercial use.
Kia emphasizes that this approach is not simply about building an electric van, but about creating a platform designed from the ground up to meet modern mobility needs, both in the city and for private or professional use. The platform has been developed with flexibility in size, length and configuration in mind, adapting to both busy urban environments and demands for greater range and capacity.
