The two options for Macedonia: Either on the “train” with Albania, or a return to before 1991

By Ivon Velickovski

If SDSM does not support the initiative for constitutional amendments, there are still other options: One is to hand over Siljanovska-Davkova. If she also does not dare to oppose Mickoski, just as Filipce does not dare, then let us propose 150.000 citizens with signatures. Both are available under Article 130 of the Constitution.

The President could propose amendments to bring North Macedonia back on the “train” with Albania and Montenegro. This is the quickest and easiest option.
Thus, with institutional initiative, it will come to the aid of the Prime Minister’s call for “national unity” for the European agenda (also repeated by Minister Mucunski).

As a candidate of VMRO-DPMNE, also voted for by VLEN, ZNAM, Levica and part of SDSM in 2024, she could be the “personification” of Mickoski’s national unity. It seems clear that she can count on DUI’s votes for such an initiative in the Assembly.

After all, she made an entrance this week – by defending the Prespa Agreement (even though she had rejected it as an MP, as a presidential candidate, and as president until this week).
After the initial shock, with her statement she showed that even VMRO-DPMNE knows what we have been claiming since 2022:
– the Macedonian people and the nation of North Macedonia have no problem with the agreements,
– the problematization of the agreements came only from the centers and “lipicaners” of South Macedonian intellectuals in and around (the politics of) SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE.

To make it clearer how much the matter has “burnt”, let’s link the fact that some ministers are already distancing themselves from Mickoski by explaining in the media that VMRO-DPMNE “has never been against Prespa”.

And to “seal” everything – the message that we should be part of Europe was also sent to Mickoski by Branko Azeski. Azeski did this “spontaneously” and through the media.

It only remains to tell Mickoski that:
– the nation of North Macedonia is neither monoethnic nor monolingual and that
– dare not escalate the interethnic tensions that VMRO-DPMNE and Mickoski are building by:
A) administrative barriers to the Albanian language,
B) the destruction of fair representation and
C) the destruction of the representation of Albanians for a further non-representation of Macedonians, both before and after 1991.

Facing reality is becoming more difficult because since the “French Proposal” they have been drafting a plan on how, through the “monoethnic” model of governance in politics, economy and finance, to exclude all Macedonians and Albanians outside their circle of “Ten Families”.

And, of course, knowing that Siljanovska-Davkova dares not “move” outside the South Macedonian square Komora/ASHAM/LSDM/VMRO-DPMNE, let us prepare for true national unity.

Let’s prepare for 150.000 signatures. Then let’s see how they’ll counter half of their total electorate. (koha.mk)
