The Austrian chancellor says he had a “very friendly” conversation with Trump

The Austrian Chancellor, Karl Nehammer, has had a “very friendly and forward-looking” telephone conversation with the US President-elect, Donald Trump.  In a post on the X platform, Nehammer wrote that the two discussed topics such as energy security.

“In the conversation on Monday evening, I congratulated Trump on his presidential victory and we discussed key topics such as energy security, economic and defense cooperation,” he wrote, adding that he looks forward to deepening ties between the countries, reports Reuters.

Nehammer congratulated Trump shortly after Fox News projected the Republican candidate’s victory over Democrat Kamala Harris in this year’s US presidential election.
