The former American president, Jimmy Carter, died

The former American president, Jimmy Carter, died on Sunday at the age of 100. The democratic politician was the president of the United States of America from 1977 to 1981, at a time when the US was facing economic and diplomatic crises.

He is also a laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize. Carter was the 39th president of the USA. The Nobel Prize was awarded for “decades of tireless efforts to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.”

“My father is a hero. Not just for me, but for all those who believe in peace, human rights and selfless love. The world is our family because of the way he brought people together and we thank you for honoring his memory,” said his son, Chip Carter.

Carter is survived by four children, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. His wife, Rosalynn, died in November 2023.
