Trump says it again: We must have Greenland

The US president has reiterated his demand for control of the Danish island. Speaking to reporters in Florida shortly before flying to Washington DC, Trump said Denmark “can’t protect him.”

“We have to have it… They can’t protect it, Denmark,” Trump said, foreign media reported.

He stressed that Greenland will be a topic of discussion with European leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week. He will go there with a large American delegation.

The US president revealed he had a “very good phone call” with NATO chief Mark Rutte regarding Greenland and has agreed to meet with “various parties” at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this week.

“Greenland is essential to National and World Security,” Trump continued in his tweet. “There is no going back – On that, everyone agrees!”
