Erdogan joins Turkish platform Next Sosyal

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made his first post on the country’s new social network, Next Sosyal. In the post, he quoted a line from poet Erdem Bayazit – “the flower has bloomed between concrete walls” – and accompanied it with the hashtag “We are starting” and emojis of the Turkish flag, the earth and a rocket. Next Sosyal is an app created in collaboration with the T3 Foundation and Turkish defense company Baykar. It offers updates on technology, lifestyle and current events, and has already surpassed one million users.

Introduced on July 23, the app allows users to share texts, photos, videos and polls.

The platform offers chronological content, without ads, without censorship and without hidden algorithms, bringing a more transparent experience to users. A distinctive feature of it is the support for multilingual interaction and quick replies, which makes the application accessible to a wider audience. According to the developers, Next Sosyal is conceived as a safe space where users of all ages can share their thoughts and feelings, free from manipulation, misinformation and insults – thus offering a local alternative to global social networks.
