Hybrid Intelligence is born, between human and artificial. It is called ‘System 0’ and is the result of human interaction with technology, intended to theoretically strengthen the capacities of the human brain, but on the condition that it knows how to control AI. “System 0” is a new, revolutionary way of thinking, different from the intuitive reasoning that is “System 1”, but also from analytical and reflective reasoning. With the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence, the changes it brings mark the first step towards a new era of humanity in the evolution of thinking and decision-making capacity.
The development of this new field depends on the human ability to keep under control and properly direct the Artificial Intelligence, which can be used for the elaboration of voluminous data.
“System 0” foresees exactly the interaction of these two, but the direction and interpretation of data or calculations should be done by humans. The danger is that if we passively accept the solutions and information that AI brings us, then we may run the risk that in the future we will lose the capacity to reason autonomously and we will no longer even have innovative ideas. Experts insist on the importance of the human, as in today’s context dominated by automation, it is essential that humans continue to check and question the ready-made results that AI provides.
