Nearly 70% of Americans concerned about corruption in Trump administration

69% of Americans are concerned about corruption and conflicts of interest in President Donald Trump’s administration, according to a Financial Times analysis. About half of those surveyed believe corruption has become a more serious problem during Trump’s second presidential term. The survey also reflects citizens’ concerns about the state of the economy. 56% of respondents say their financial situation has worsened since Trump returned to the White House.

More than a quarter say they have been forced to cut back on spending on even basic necessities, such as food and medical care. Meanwhile, 54% of Americans blame the Trump administration or Republicans in Congress for high prices.

Discontent with the rising cost of living also appears to be affecting citizens’ political attitudes. More than 40% of respondents say that rising prices have made them more likely to vote for Democrats in the midterm elections. The findings highlight concerns among a significant portion of the American public about the integrity of the administration, the deteriorating financial situation and the rising cost of living, issues that could affect the political climate ahead of the midterm elections.
